Hey Northflow community, We’re officially three months into building Northflow in public. This journey has been full of launches, lessons, and lots of learning. In this update, we’re sharing what we’ve shipped, what we’re learning from using Northflow ourselves, and what’s coming next.

What we’ve launched

Here’s what we’ve shipped based on your feedback and our own day-to-day needs:
Calendar view
A highly requested feature. Visual thinkers can now plan episodes and tasks in a calendar format. Some of you are even using it for social media planning—and we love seeing that.
Production schedule view
You can now view what’s going live and when. This gives you a clear, month-by-month breakdown of your publishing schedule across shows and clients.
Custom templates
Every show is different. Every client has a unique workflow. You can now build your own templates per show, per client—or even per episode. This flexibility helps teams scale without starting from scratch every time.
Kanban view
Drag-and-drop your way through production. Use a Trello-style board to track tasks from pre-production through to post-production. Customize your stages to match your workflow.
UI updates
We made it easier to update task dates without clicking into every task. A few bugs were squashed too. Thanks to your feedback, we’re always improving.
What we’re learning from the inside
We’re not just building Northflow—we’re using it to manage our own podcast, Behind the Workflow.
As creators and product builders, this gives us a rare advantage. We’re spotting friction points, building solutions quickly, and staying close to the challenges our users face every day.
Struggles and growth moments
Bootstrapping
We’re doing this without investors, which means we don’t have a huge ad budget. The upside? We’ve had real conversations with nearly every single user. That direct connection has helped us refine the product in ways we never could with just metrics and surveys.
Outreach slowdowns
Spring break brought a bit of a lull in responses. It’s helping us rethink our outreach approach and invest more in our community space on Discord—coming very soon.
